Mokbar BK

Esther Choi brings her popular Chelsea Market noodle bar to a freestanding space in Prospect Heights. Choi’s cooking is rooted deeply in her relationship with her Korean grandmother, and includes dishes like royal bibimbap with seasonal vegetables ($24), vegetable nest tempura, with sweet potato, parsnips, onion, and carrot ($9), lentil jeon with ground lentils and smoked bacon ($9). The 60-seat restaurant also has a section of the menu dedicated to jip bap. It starts with a protein such as short rib, pork belly sautéed with kimchi, or salted mackerel, and comes with rice, soup, and a selection of three to four small vegetable dishes.
