Korean rice wine also known as “drunken rice”.  It is actually brewed, not distilled by adding nuruk (a combination of whole grain grits/flour and active fermenting yeasts) to par-cooked rice that is then allowed to “brew”.  It is unfiltered which lends to the “milky/cloudy” consistency and is usually sweetened with sugar or fruits.  Milky, sweet, and rich.

Sake

Nanbu-Bijin Tokubetsu Junmai  $16

Filtered Clear Sake originated from Tohoku, Japan.  Hint of tangerine and cantaloupes, lively and fresh with a clean flavor.  Full-bodied and a great “starter sake”.

Kikusui Shuzo, Kikusui Perfect Snow Nigori $15

The King of Nigori Sake.  Unfiltered Milky Sake originated from Chubu, Japan.  Floral, rich, crisp, full-bodied, and dynamic.
